Seven injured in Accra-Kumasi car crash as 1 feared dead


One person is feared dead and several others have sustained injuries in a car crash at Mankrong near Suhum on the Accra-Kumasi Highway.
Two Articulated trucks collided head-on after one tried to overtake a Kia truck heading to Kumasi from Accra in the early hours of Thursday.

The driver of the Kia truck, believed to be in his forties died instantly after his car skidded off the road in the process of the crash.

A VIP bus driver who tried to avoid ramming into the other vehicles veered off the road into a nearby bush., injuring some passengers on board.

Joy News’ Kofi Siaw reported that seven passengers who were injured have been conveyed to the Suhum Government Hospital for treatment.

Two days ago, scores of passengers sustained varying degrees of injuries after the vehicles they were traveling in were involved in an accident also on the Accra-Kumasi road.

President Mahama Educates Kpandai Residents On Proper Voting Procedure

President John Dramani Mahama on Tuesday, educated the people of Kpandai on the proper way to thumb print a ballot paper. He expressed concern over the number of rejected voters in the 2012 election and asked the people to do it well this time around and retain him in power. GNPC Set To Sell TEN Crude Oil To TOR

The Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) is prepared to sell its share of crude oil from the Tweneboa, Enyenra and Ntomme (TEN) oilfields in the Western Region to the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR). It said it was also ready to dialogue with its partners to sell either all or part of their share of crude oil from the TEN oilfields to TOR. TOR was faced with numerous challenges resulting in the refinery not producing for a couple of years but it has surmounted its problems and currently refining crude products. The TEN project, which has 80 per cent oil and 20 per cent gas reserves, is expected to experience its first drop of crude oil on August 18, 2016. The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the GNPC, Mr Alex K. M.
