Mass Burial for Eid Stampede Victims:

A mass burial has been organised on Thursday July 7 for nine persons, who died in a stampede at Asawase, a Muslim suburb of Kumasi in the Ashanti region. The incident happened on the night of Wednesday July 6.

The nine, six females and three males, who perished in the Eid ul-Fitr celebrations at the Asawase community centre





Eventhough is not clear what led to the stampede within the community centre where the revelers jammed the night away, THE PARROTS,gathered that a fight broke out and those inside the Center were in a hurry to get out.

Six others, who survived, but sustained serious injuries, were conveyed in trucks to the Manhyia hospital are still receiving treatment as the police have started investigating the matter

Bucking against conservative Christian tradition advising against extra-marital sex, the Rev. Bromleigh McCleneghan, a married mother of three and associate pastor for ministry with families at Union Church of Hinsdale in Illinois, says single Christians can have sex as long as it's "mutually pleasurable and affirming." Citing 1 Corinthians 6:18-20, many Mainline Protestant and evangelical churches like the  Assemblies of God Church , advise against sexual relations among single Christians. Walewale chaos: Regional Minister’s relative accused of carrying out machete attack

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Northern Region has accused the Regional Minister, Abdullah Abubakari, of ordering a machete attack on a supporter of the party. Northern Regional Secretary of the NPP, Sule Salifu, says the party has picked up intelligence that a close relative of the Minister carried out the machete attack and also run over the NPP supporter with a vehicle. The NPP on Tuesday held a press conference where they accused the NDC in the Northern Region of stockpiling arms to cause mayhem during the upcoming elections this year. The party also said Mr Abdullah has formed a vigilante group which he uses to terrorise members of the opposition parties in the constituency.
