The New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Northern Region has accused the Regional Minister, Abdullah Abubakari, of ordering a machete attack on a supporter of the party. Northern Regional Secretary of the NPP, Sule Salifu, says the party has picked up intelligence that a close relative of the Minister carried out the machete attack and also run over the NPP supporter with a vehicle. The NPP on Tuesday held a press conference where they accused the NDC in the Northern Region of stockpiling arms to cause mayhem during the upcoming elections this year. The party also said Mr Abdullah has formed a vigilante group which he uses to terrorise members of the opposition parties in the constituency. Mr Salifu alleged further that Mr Abdullah is using his influence to prevent the arrest of the perpetrator of the machete attack. 108 Ghanaians, Liberians Deported From US In Chains

Over 100 Ghanaians and Liberians deported from the United States of America were engaged in a standoff with US officials at the Kotoka International Airport in Accra after they arrived in the country on Wednesday. The deportees who arrived on a chartered flight refused to disembark from a plane that had brought them to the Kotoka International Airport, accusing the US officials of inhumane treatment meted out to them. Some of the deportees who had reportedly served jail terms in the US for various offences including drug trafficking demanded that they be sent back to the US. Others were also deported for staying illegally, over staying their permits and other crimes. The deportees accused the US officials of putting hand and ankle cuffs on them and curtailing their movement on the flight. Bromleigh McCleneghan, a married mother of three and associate pastor for ministry with families at Union Church of Hinsdale in Illinois, says single Christians can have sex as long as it's "mutually pleasurable and affirming." Citing 1 Corinthians 6:18-20, many Mainline Protestant and evangelical churches like the  Assemblies of God Church , advise against sexual relations among single Christians. "Today within our society singles exist for one of two reasons — by choice, or by circumstance.
