President John Dramani Mahama on Tuesday, educated the people of Kpandai on the proper way to thumb print a ballot paper. He expressed concern over the number of rejected voters in the 2012 election and asked the people to do it well this time around and retain him in power. GNPC Set To Sell TEN Crude Oil To TOR

The Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) is prepared to sell its share of crude oil from the Tweneboa, Enyenra and Ntomme (TEN) oilfields in the Western Region to the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR). It said it was also ready to dialogue with its partners to sell either all or part of their share of crude oil from the TEN oilfields to TOR. TOR was faced with numerous challenges resulting in the refinery not producing for a couple of years but it has surmounted its problems and currently refining crude products. The TEN project, which has 80 per cent oil and 20 per cent gas reserves, is expected to experience its first drop of crude oil on August 18, 2016. The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the GNPC, Mr Alex K. M. Mould, told journalists after the lead operator of the TEN project, Tullow Ghana Limited, had held an exhibition on the project, that crude oil would be sold to TOR on the same terms as pertained with other companies. Parties Urged To Work Towards Peaceful Elections

The Ashanti Regional Minister, Mr John Alexander Ackon, has reminded Christians to renew their responsibility of praying for the peace of the nation and its leaders as the country prepares for elections this year. “There is no doubt that the peace we enjoy as a nation is due to the grace of God and the unceasing intercession of the saints of God,” he said. Mr Ackon  expressed optimism that Ghana would survive and come out victorious in the upcoming presidential and parliamentary elections, but added:“ Let us remember that the battle for peace is not yet over and it will take our prayers to ensure free and fair elections on December 7,” he added.
