Donkorkrom unrestFive residents of Donkorkrom are currently in critical condition and are receiving treatment at the Presbyterian Hospital in the town following a clash between the residents and police officers.
The five are among sixteen persons that sustained gunshot wounds during the clash which has resulted in the burning down of the Police Station in the area.

The residents set the police station and barracks in the town ablaze to protest the escape of two alleged armed robbers who attacked a bullion van Tuesday and killed one person.

About 30 police officers at the station and the barracks who were overpowered by the residents are reportedly fleeing for their lives.

The fleeing officers were said to have fired the shots to scare the angry residents .

“All the youth are fighting with the Police now. They [Police] had to ran away because they have no tear-gas to use in dispersing the crowd which is stoning the officers,” Adom News’ Maxwell Kudekor reported.
