Chair Of Mangoe Farmers: Nana Addo’s Factory Promise Not Wishful Thinking

nanaaddoThe Chairman of Mango Farmers Association in the Manya Krobo District of the Eastern Region, Edward Amanor, has waded in the debate of The New Patriotic Party’s Presidential Candidate, Nana Addo Dankwah Akuffo Addo’s, one district one factory promise made to Ghanaians as feasible.
According to him, critics of Nana Addo, must tell Ghanaians what they have rather than rubbishing off his vision. Speaking to XYZ News, he said his conviction is stemmed from the New Patriotic Party’s introduction of National Health Insurance Scheme to face off the cash and carry system in the health sector.
Although he reckoned that, his view does not represent that of the association, he believes the New Patriotic Party’s vision of one factory in all the two hundred and seventy five districts, is achievable.
Mr. Amanor was further of the view, that, farmers in the area have drawn the attention of the Government with such a proposal but all no avail. The affable Chairman entreated critics and the general public to desist from the notion that, the promise is a wishful thinking aimed at winning political power.
Advancing his argument, he said, mango farming is on the ascendency amidst little or no support from Government. He added that, farmers often experience gluts in production but lack processing factories to buy their produce. This; according to him, has resulted in production losses among the farmers.
The amiable chairman reckoned that the association will welcome any such wonderful innovation across the political divide in the interest of mother Ghana.
